aespa excels in first day of sales this month

As we know, this month is a comeback event for various popular KPop groups. The groups did not return to the entertainment stage empty-handed. They released a new album that has long been prepared for fans.
With their popularity and influence, some groups were able to get much higher album sales than other KPop groups. Some of these KPop groups even achieved sales of more than 1 million copies on the first day of their album release this May.
1. LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM officially made a comeback with the digital release of UNFORGIVEN on May 1. The day after, they just released the physical version of their first full-length album. Based on Hanteo Chart data, UNFORGIVEN recorded total sales of 1,024,034 copies on May 2 alone.
In its first week of release, the cumulative sales of the album rose significantly to 1,258,001. With this achievement, UNFORGIVEN automatically became LE SSERAFIM’s highest-selling album in the first week, beating the second mini album ANTIFRAGILE which sold around 560,000 units during the first week.

Following LE SSERAFIM, aespa released the mini album MY WORLD on May 8, 2023. On that day, the album sales reached 1,372,929 copies. Based on Hanteo Chart data, this makes it the most sold KPop girl group album on the first day of its release.
Meanwhile, sales of the MY WORLD mini album also reportedly increased by more than 300,000 copies, bringing the album’s total sales to 1,698,784 copies in its first week. Not stopping there, the sales of aespa’s third mini album continued to accelerate, reaching 2,011,388 copies in its second week.
With this extraordinary achievement, aespa successfully ranked runner-up after BLACKPINK in the list of girl groups that have sold more than 2 million albums throughout the history of the Hanteo Chart. In addition, they also became the fastest girl group to get the double million seller title. So cool!
3. ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN just launched a mini album titled DARK BLOOD on May 22. Hanteo Chart reported that the album had sold 1,108,337 copies on that day. This achievement also broke ENHYPEN’s personal record that they previously achieved through the album MANIFESTO: DAY 1.
Since there are still a few days until the first week of the release of their latest album, ENHYPEN’s album sales are expected to increase. Considering ENHYPEN’s previous album reached 1,241,100 copies in its first week, it is not impossible that DARK BLOOD will surpass that number by the weekend.
In addition to LE SSERAFIM, aespa, and ENHYPEN, there is also (G)I-DLE who managed to get a total of 1 million copies of album sales in the first week of the release of the album I Feel in May. Fans were proud of (G)I-DLE’s achievement of finally making it into the group of artists whose album sales surpassed 1 million copies, albeit not within a day.
