The second half of 2023 will open soon. Several new Korean dramas have shown progress in the production process to be ready for airing later. One of them is MBC’s drama Flower That Blooms at Night (literal title).

Director Jang Tae Yoo has been recognized through his previous works. Call it the kdrama Painter of the Wind (2008), My Love from the Star (2013), to Lovers of the Red Sky (2021). This time director Jang Tae Yoo will return as the main director for the kdrama Flower That Blooms at Night with the help of two other people, namely Choi Jung In and Lee Chang Woo.

Lee Honey’s character Jo Yeo Hwa is said to have lived as a widow for 15 years with two different faces. During the day, she lives a quiet life as a daughter-in-law of a noble family without seeing the outside world. However, Jo Yeo Hwa at night travels outside to take care of people in need without anyone knowing.

Lee Jong Won in this drama plays a geumwiyoung subordinate officer named Park Soo Ho. He is a smart person and has excellent martial arts skills. His life changed drastically because he was caught up in an unexpected incident after meeting Jo Yeo Hwa.
4. Kim Sang Joong’s role

Kim Sang Joong will return to acting through the kdrama Flower That Blooms at Night. The actor plays Seok Ji Sung, the first deputy prime minister who is Jo Yeo Hwa’s father-in-law.
He is a person who receives the king’s trust and is respected by the people. Although Seok Ji Sung is a kind and generous father-in-law, it is different when he is working on state affairs.

The role of the king’s reliable advocate and Park Soo Ho’s older brother Park Yoon Hak will be played by Lee Ki Woo. Born into a prominent family, Park Yoon Hak grew up with the crown prince who is now the king. Apart from Lee Honey, Lee Jong Won, Kim Sang Joong, and Lee Ki Woo, there are still other players who have not been revealed. Likewise, the air date has not been confirmed so far. The production only said that Flower That Blooms at Night is only planned to air in the second half of 2023.
