Song Joong Ki stars in Hopeless, which is Kim Chang Ho’s directorial debut. The film was shown at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. His presence at this international film festival is the first time in his 15-year career as an actor.
In Hopeless, Song Joong Ki plays Chi Geon, who is in charge of an organization and lives in a world full of danger. The movie also stars Hong Sa Bin and BIBI.

Not alone, Song Joong Ki’s departure to France was in fact accompanied by his wife. Katy was also caught on camera while at the hotel where the interview took place.
As a former actress, Katy is known to have attended the Cannes Film Festival several times. Song Joong Ki also revealed that his wife often shares her memories of attending the famous event.
“Although she has now retired as an actress, my wife attended this festival several times when she was still an actress. She told me where the Lumière Theater was and her experiences while at the festival,” Song Joong Ki said as reported by South Korean media MoneyS on Tuesday (5/23/2023).

Song Joong Ki also revealed that he will be attending with his wife. “Tomorrow, I will go to the official premiere of Hopeless with my wife. This is very extraordinary, and I think so. I hope (reporters) take a lot of pictures,” Song Joong Ki said as reported by MoneyS media.
Netizens and reporters were looking forward to the moment Song Joong Ki appeared with Katy on the red carpet of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. However, in fact the actor appeared alone.

The couple, who officially married in January 2023, are awaiting the birth of their first child. Reporting from Sports Chosun, Katy did not attend the premiere of her husband’s movie because of the brutal violence scene.
The violent scenes in the movie were considered not good for Katy who was pregnant.

Even so, Joong Ki himself leaked the condition of his wife who was 9 months pregnant. The actor also revealed that his wife’s pregnancy culture is different from Asia.
“Western culture has differences in terms of pregnancy. They are encouraged to walk, hike, and exercise a lot. Although the Cannes Film Festival is important, honestly, all my focus is on her (Katy). I have to take care of her while promoting the movie,” Song Joong Ki revealed.
Katy reportedly went to Cannes after gathering with her family in Rome. Even so, netizens were still mesmerized by the actor’s charm while on the red carpet of the film festival.
