Every year, KPop idols and singers from South Korea always release songs that can reach listeners in various parts of the world, and 2023 is no exception. In addition, more and more KPop groups are active, as well as soloists.

1. “OMG” – NewJeans 
The year 2023 opened with a hit song from NewJeans, “OMG”. The song, which was released on January 2, 2023, made fans and non-fans reverberate. 
2. “VIBE” – Taeyang ft. Jimin BTS
“VIBE” is an epic collaboration between Taeyang and Jimin BTS released on January 13, 2023. Taeyang sang it at his concerts and solo performances throughout the year. 
3. “Moonlight Sunrise” – TWICE
TWICE released “Moonlight Sunrise” as their second English song. To top it off, the song from their EP Ready to Be reached number 22 on the Billboard 200. 
4. “Fighting” – SEVENTEEN BSS 
SEVENTEEN’s sub-unit, BSS or BooSeokSoon, released their second mini album with the title track “Fighting”. Aside from being a challenge, this song managed to gain a lot of listeners from non-fans, especially in South Korea.
5. “Cupid” – FIFTY FIFTY
Released on February 24, 2023, “Cupid” from rookie girl group FIFTY FIFTY went viral in various parts of the world through social media, especially Instagram and TikTok. In fact, various versions of it achieved success.
6. “Rover” – Kai EXO
“Rover” became Kai EXO’s offering before he left for the draft. The song, which was released on March 13, 2023, is busy making dance challenges, especially by KPop idols.
7. “Like Crazy” – Jimin BTS
Jimin became the first BTS member to debut as a soloist in 2023. His title track, “Like Crazy”, has been streamed 745 million times on Spotify!
8. “Flower” – Jisoo BLACKPINK
Jisoo BLACKPINK’s “Flower” is widely used as TikTok audio. Her dance moves with her hands forming a flower went viral as a challenge on social media. No wonder non-fans know this song!
9. “I Am” – IVE
IVE made several comebacks this year, but “I Am” was the most viral because it’s easy-listening. On Spotify, this song has been streamed over 200 million times.
10. “Perfume” – NCT DoJaeJung
NCT DoJaeJung consisting of Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo debuted with the album Perfume on April 17. The title track, “Perfume”, became one of the most popular dance challenges on TikTok. 
11. “Haegeum” – SUGA BTS
Before his world tour, BTS’ SUGA released his second album, D-Day. The album’s title track, “Haegeum”, was a huge hit and has been streamed 193 million times on Spotify.
12. “Super” – SEVENTEEN
Last but not least, SEVENTEEN’s “Super” was released as one of the title tracks of the album FML. With its iconic moves, the song’s dance challenge was enlivened by fans and other idols.

Furthermore, here are the KPop songs released in the period May to August 2023 and managed to go viral throughout this year:
1. “Queencard” – (G)-IDLE
(G)-IDLE’s “Queencard” has been listened to 200 million times on Spotify. The song has also become a dance challenge on TikTok and Instagram. 
2. “S-Class” – Stray Kids
In June 2023, Stray Kids released “S-Class” along with the album 5-Star. Apart from going viral on social media, this song also led Stray Kids to win the Best K-Pop award at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
3. “Seven” – Jungkook BTS
“Seven”, which marked Jungkook BTS’ solo debut, became the most viral song of 2023. The single debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 100 and has now been listened to 1.2 billion times in just 6 months. 
4. “Cake” – ITZY
“Cake” has an iconic and catchy chorus that makes you sing along. No wonder many general public (GP) use it as background music on TikTok. 
5. “Super Shy” – NewJeans
Another one of NewJeans’ works that managed to go really viral in 2023 is “Super Shy”. The title track of the album Get Up managed to hook non-fans into Bunnies (the name of NewJeans fans) and has now been listened to 379 million times on Spotify.

3. September-December 2023

Finally, there are six songs released from September to December 2023. Here is the list:
1. “Slow Dancing” – V BTS
V was the last BTS member to debut solo. He released an album called Layover with the title track “Slow Dancing” on September 8, 2023. In 4 months, the song reached 239 million listens on Spotify.
2. “3D” – Jungkook BTS
Jungkook BTS released another new song on September 29, 2023 titled “3D”. This song became a hot topic of conversation on TikTok because it talks about the importance of partner permission and consent when performing sexual acts.
3. “Drama” – aespa
“Drama” was just released on November 10, 2023. This song immediately boomed because it was made into various dance challenges with KPop idols. 
4. “Get A Guitar” – RIIZE
RIIZE’s debut song is considered very suitable for the fresh concept they carry. Despite being a rookie, the “Get A Guitar” dance challenge was successfully followed by many people and the song has now reached 28 million streams on Spotify.
5. “Perfect Night” – LE SSERAFIM
“Perfect Night” was LE SSERAFIM’s first English single. The song, which was released as a collaboration with Overwatch 2, has an easy-to-follow dance that made it a very popular challenge. 
6. “Chill Kill” – Red Velvet
Finally, there is “Chill Kill” which was released on November 13, 2023. With Red Velvet’s signature mysterious concept, this song is loved by many people, including non-fans in South Korea.
