The Seoul Music Awards will be held overseas for the first time. The award show has been confirmed to be held on January 2, 2024, at the Rajamangala National Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand.
The Seoul Music Awards has been going on since 1990. The event is held regularly every year. Awarded artists are selected based on songs and albums released from January to December 2023. The scoring system is based on 30% online voting, 40% jury assessment, and 30% album sales.

Y Global Music, always the organizer, announced that the 33rd Seoul Music Awards will be hosted by four artists, namely Tiffany Young, Lee Seung Gi, Youngjae, and BamBam. The 33rd Seoul Music Awards is not only inviting Korean artists. They will also have special guest Thai artists Gemini, Fourth, Zeepruk, and Nunew. These four artists have both local and international popularity.
Gemini and Fourth caught the attention of Thai drama series lovers after starring in My School President (2022). Both are under the GMMTV agency. Zeepruk and Nunew gained international popularity after starring in the television series Cutie Pie (2022). They have even held fanmeeting tours to several countries, including Japan and South Korea.
Recently, many Korean award shows have been held overseas, including the 2023 Asian Artist Awards in the Philippines, the 2023 MNET Asian Music Awards in Japan, and the 33rd Seoul Music Awards in Thailand.
