Vietnam is the only communist country in Southeast Asia. For Muslim tourists on vacation in Vitenam, there are several mosques that can be visited to pray.
Although not very big and grand, these mosques can accommodate up to hundreds of worshipers. Combining local architectural styles to make them look more attractive, here are five of the most famous mosques in Vietnam spread across several regions.
1. Jamia Al-Musulman

Ho Chi Minh City as one of the largest cities in Vietnam has several mosques where Muslims can worship. However, the most famous mosque in the city is Jamia Al-Musulman. As reported by Yallavietnam, Jamia Al-Musulman is the largest mosque in Ho Chi Minh City.
Built in 1935, this mosque used to serve Muslims of Indian origin living in the city. Now, Jamia Al-Musulman’s worshippers come from several countries such as Pakistan, Indonesia, India and others. The mosque also has another name, Saigon central mosque.
2. Jamiul Azhar

The building of Jamiul Azhar looks very grand and large and has a large courtyard. The mosque is more than 60 years old and has undergone several major renovations. Interestingly, in front of the mosque there is a Muslim burial area.
Apart from being a place of worship, Jamiul Azhar is also a center of Islamic learning. The mosque is located in the An Giang region, which has the largest Muslim population in Vietnam. When entering Jamiul Azhar, you will go through a beautiful mosque gate.
3. Mubarak mosque

When you first see the building of Mubarak Mosque, you can be sure that this mosque is very old. Mubarak Mosque is more than 200 years old, making it the oldest mosque in Vietnam. This mosque was built on the initiative of the Indian Muslim community living in An Giang.
In the past, the building used simple materials including wood and bamboo. Gradually, the mosque underwent changes until the building looked more solid.
Inside the mosque there is a collection of rapana drums that are more than 500 years old.
4. Cho Lon Mosque

Another mosque that you can go to for praying in Ho Chi Minh City is Cho Lon Mosque. This mosque is always crowded with Muslims because it is located in the city center. However, Cho Lon Mosque can only accommodate hundreds of worshipers.
The environment around the mosque is very neat and clean, offering a comfortable atmosphere for visitors. Cho Lon Mosque is open from 3:00 am to 9:00 pm. The mosque building combines traditional Vietnamese architectural styles.
5. Al Ehsan Mosque

Al Ehsan Mosque is known for its beautiful building. Reporting from the Innoviet page, most of the buildings are dominated by white paint and a little touch of green on the edges. While the design imitates one of the mosques in the city of Dubai.
Every Muslim tourist who travels to the An Giang region always takes the time to visit Al Ehsan Mosque. This mosque has a long and wide corridor that can be used by worshipers as a place to rest. The surrounding atmosphere is calm so you can worship solemnly.
Most of the mosques above are found in the An Giang region, which has the largest Muslim population in Vietnam. So, you can pray when you are on vacation in Vietnam.
