Jung Woo Sung plays a different character, despite airing close together

Jung Woo Sung made his drama comeback after 11 years through a project titled Tell Me That You Love Me. The drama premiered on November 27, 2023. Jung Woo Sung himself plays a figure named Cha Jin Woo, a painter with hearing problems.
Before Tell Me That You Love Me was released, Jung Woo Sung’s acting had first stolen the audience’s attention in the movie 12:12 The Day. The film is known to air on November 22, 2023. In 12:12 The Day, Jung Woo Sung plays the character of Capital Security Command commander Lee Tae Shin who opposes the military coup.
So, how did Jung Woo Sung respond to his two roles in the movie and drama? Where the two projects aired close together and Jung Woo Sung played two very different characters.

The movie 12:12 The Day is known to be included in the box office in South Korea. This is because the film is based on a true story about the historic military uprising in South Korea that took place on December 12, 1979.
The euphoria of the movie has not subsided, Jung Woo Sung has returned through a very different role, genre, and acting project with 12:12 The Day. Even so, Jung Woo Sung is not afraid of fans being confused by the two sides he plays in the two projects. He even thinks that the movie and the drama can work together.
“Both are different characters, the genre is also different. I don’t think they (fans) will be confused, because fans and viewers can enjoy both (movies and dramas) on two different platforms. I think the two can actually synergize with each other,” Jung Woo Sung explained.
2. Jung Woo Sung revealed, if the filming of the movie and the drama do not coincide

Although 12:12 The Day and Tell Me That You Love Me aired close together, the filming and production process of the two did not coincide. Jung Woo Sung said, if he only received the Tell Me That You Love Me project, after he completed the entire filming process of 12:12 The Day.
“I was actually involved in the production of Tell Me That You Love Me after completing the filming of 12:12 The Day,” said Jung Woo Sung.
Like without stopping, Jung Woo Sung revealed, if after finishing filming Tell Me That You Love Me, he also began promoting the movie 12:12 The Day. After that, the movie and the drama aired close together, only 5 days apart.
“The last shooting of Tell Me That You Love Me was around October 31st. Then, I started promoting the movie. Then, the movie and drama aired close together,” Jung Woo Sung continued.
3. Jung Woo Sung hopes his movie and drama can have a positive impact on each other

Jung Woo Sung also admitted that he did not feel pressured by the close proximity of the film 12:12 The Day and drama Tell Me That You Love Me. Moreover, he plays two very different characters in the two projects.
“I don’t feel pressured, because both have different genres,” said Jung Woo Sung.
The 1973-born actor also thinks, if the movie and the drama can have a positive impact on each other. He also feels that both fans and viewers can see a different side of him.
“I think, both the movie and the drama can have a positive impact on each other. Fans and viewers can also see two different sides of me as an actor,” Jung Woo Sung concluded.
