In December 2023, Netflix released two original dramas in the thriller genre. These two dramas are Sweet Home 2 and Gyeongseong Creature part 1. Interestingly, these two titles are both about monsters.

The same theme of monsters makes these two kdrama have similarities. In particular, about the monster at the heart of the story. Here are five similarities between monsters in kdrama Gyeongseong Creature and Sweet Home. What are they?

The monsters in Gyeongseong Creature and Sweet Home both go through several processes. Once infected, someone doesn’t immediately turn into a monster. They must go through a series of evolutions. Even so, the stages to the period of monsterization in these two dramas are different.

2. Originally, monsters were humans

In these two dramas, monsters are both said to be originally human. They are infected with foreign objects, such as parasites, until they turn into monsters. This parasite enters the human body and can then take full control, including by transforming into a monster. After turning into monsters, they move based on their instinct to attack like predators.

3. Monsters are strong, hard to defeat, and cannot be harmed

Not only are their forms scary, the monsters in these two dramas prey on humans and are difficult to defeat. They are super strong and resistant to firearms and sharp objects. When injured, they can heal very quickly.

4. The way to kill monsters is by burning

Although immune to weapons, there is one way to kill monsters in both Gyeongseong Creature and Sweet Home. The method is to be burned in a large fire. Using bombs or other explosives can be used to kill these monsters.

5. There are monsters that still have a human side

Not all monsters are violent and wild to kill humans. It turns out that there are also those who still have a human side.
